The US midterm elections have turned into a referendum on the first two years of Trump’s second term. Many Trump voters are furious over his lies, arrogance, and betrayals: on affordability, the Epstein cabal, immigration, and above all the Iran War, with its moral squalor and devastating political and economic consequences.
Since Trump is not up for reelection, the voters will take out their frustrations on his party. The Republicans will almost certainly lose the House of Representatives. It also looks increasingly likely that they will lose control of the Senate. The result will be divided government and gridlock.
In such a situation, the bad things that Trump has done will probably not be reversed. The Iran War will continue because Jews want it, and the entire political establishment does their bidding. Epstein’s friends will be protected, because they basically are the political establishment. There could be some abatement of Trump’s chaotic tariffs, but the Democrats probably prefer to complain about them than fix them. The Democrats, of course, will make noises about affordability, but they understand nothing about economics, so they can only make things worse.
Of course, Trump’s compromises and retreats on immigration will not be reversed. And there will be every incentive to retreat from the good things Trump has done to oppose open borders and anti-whiteness. Censorship and deplatforming will also come roaring back.
From my white identitarian point of view, this is pretty much the worst possible outcome.
The only thing that could mitigate this disaster is the surviving Republicans summoning the will to force Trump out of office. The best way would be for the cabinet to invoke the Twenty-Fifth Amendment. That would give J. D. Vance two years to correct course and the advantage of incumbency in 2028.
Sadly, there is almost no chance that this will happen. Republicans always prefer prayer to courageous action. Thus we face two years of paralysis in the face of mounting problems while a decaying political corpse stinks up the White House. Then, after that, the deluge . . .
It is a depressing prospect. But the most galling thing is the sense that this didn’t have to happen. All Trump had to do was say “no” to Netanyahu. Yes, given the state of the Right, this was never likely. But I refuse to believe that it was never possible.
Another source of frustration is that white identity politics is winning over more and better people every day. Our message is simple and compelling. America is a white nation, an outpost of Europe in the New World. We are losing our country to non-white immigration and multiculturalism. But we have a right to a homeland. Thus it is right for whites to take our own side and reverse these trends. The remigration of non-whites is a moral and practical way to restore white homelands. There’s no virtue in embracing decline and extinction.
Yet even as our ideas spread, political reversals loom. There are three reasons for this failure: a time lag, a generation gap, and the divisions in the Trump electoral coalition.
The Time Lag
Metapolitics comes before politics. Changing ideas and values comes before changing policies. Ideas are the animating force of history, but there’s a great deal of inertia in politics: dead matter and brain-dead people, often with a great deal of force behind them. Currently, we’re on the Titanic steaming toward a demographic iceberg. Even when the order is given to change course, sheer inertia means that the iceberg will loom larger and larger until we veer away to safety.
The Generation Gap
Another reason for the time lag between changing ideas and changing policies is a generation gap, which really means a power and money gap.

On the Right today, thinking people under 40 are increasingly white identitarians. It is the only vital, growing current on the Right. Ted Cruz is complaining that he can’t find staffers because none of them pass his ideological litmus tests. They won’t even lie to him to advance their careers. This is a huge triumph.
Beyond that, no thinking person under 40 believes that Israel or “based” Jews can be trusted allies of white identity politics. The ones who claim the opposite are either lying or sellouts. Many of us gave people like Bronze Age Pervert a hearing, even after their crypsis was blown. But the October 7th crash outs, Epstein apologetics, Iran War boosterism, and general gatekeeperman behavior have stripped us of all illusions. It is a pity that genuine Jewish allies labor under this cloud of suspicion, but I don’t have the social capital to beat back this tide, or even niggle over the nuances.
These attitudes are not, moreover, confined to the fever swamps of the online Right. They have gone entirely mainstream. It is no secret to anyone that everything costs more because Trump started a war at Israel’s behest.
Republicans like Ted Cruz and Mike Johnson have spent decades advancing their careers by using fealty to Israel as a shield and accusations of anti-Semitism as a sword. They now seem stunned and hapless, because those words have lost their magic with younger voters.
White men in America under 40 are increasingly deaf to appeals to GOP incrementalism. They’ve seen too much kayfabe. They’ve experienced too many betrayals. They’ve been dishonored too many times. They feel disaffected and embittered toward the whole system, not just the GOP. This began with the 2008 financial crisis and accelerated with Black Lives Matter and COVID. Again, I could niggle with them on the finer points, but I would end up torching my credibility in the process. I simply can’t afford to sound like a MAGA shill.
This generational shift has not yet caused permanent policy changes because power and money are disproportionately held by older generations, especially the increasingly hated Boomers.
The Trump Coalition
Identitarians tend to think long-term about the good of the whole society. But we are only part of an electoral coalition that includes oligarchs addicted to cheap labor, Zionists, and the up-and-coming Indian ethnic mafia. Among these groups, short-term thinking and special interests predominate.
Trump got off to a strong start. He was never a white identitarian, yet he still implemented white identitarian policies. But it was always two steps forward, one step back, as Trump zig-zagged between serving America and serving these special interest groups. Then, finally, the Zionist lobby seized the wheel of state and crashed his presidency with the Iran War.
I see no possibility of long-term cooperation between those who hoped Trump would save America and those who were willing to destroy his presidency to serve Israel.
Overcoming These Problems
The time lag will be solved by time. The generation gap will be solved by biology: older generations will die, ceding their money and power. As we convert more people to our way of thinking, oligarchs will align themselves with nationalism.
Zionism will always be with us, but it is dwindling. It will no longer cause crippling division when it shrinks down to about 1% of the Right: basically Jews and a few Douglas Murrays and Rod Drehers to man the light switches at NatCon Jerusalem.
As for the Indian mafia: racism against blacks and Jews might be déclassé among educated whites, but open hatred of Indians is not. Frankly, it offends even me. But anything that awakens ethnocentrism among educated whites should be considered a godsend. I am also heartened by how quickly it has grown. The power of blood is stirring in even the most deracinated whites.
The Current Danger
With time, our policies will win out. But right now, identitarians are in a dangerous position. We don’t yet have the power to impose our policy preferences. But we do have the power to tank the Republicans and put the Left into power. We also have enough bitter, frustrated, and spiteful people to do just that. And I don’t have the clout to stop them.
Those who have a lot to lose might consider appeasing them.
Unfortunately, we may not have the time. The great danger is that once the Left get back into power, they will put an end to liberal democracy. It will happen eventually, because in highly polarized societies, it is not safe to hand the gun of state power to your enemies.
But in that case, we no longer have to play the democracy game either.
In the Meantime . . .
What should we do? A few facts bear repeating.
First, we are not just passive spectators, dependent on the Republicans or the Democrats to act for us. We are also agents. Indeed, our agency has already dramatically altered American politics. How have we done it? By changing minds, networking, and building institutions. So we need to keep doing more of what works.
Second, the Republican Party might institute pro-white policies from time to time. But no center-Right party will restore white homelands, because they don’t want that. Indeed, they shrink from that prospect in horror. Only we want white homelands, so only we can cross that finish line. It was always up to us. So again, we must focus on doing what works.
Third, “what works” will probably get a lot harder in the near future. Despite some relaxation of censorship for new platforms and people, Counter-Currents is still laboring under deplatforming and bans going back a decade now. Beyond that, censorship, deplatforming, debanking, and travel bans are still slowly expanding, as the recent experiences of Keith Woods, Martin Sellner, and Rob Rundo can attest. As a general rule, the better the advocate, the harder the repression.
Winter is coming for white advocacy. To survive it, we must bank resources while we can.
Fourth, things may look bad in America now, but they are looking up in Europe. And Europe is ultimately more important than the colonies. If we can save the homeland of our race, we can deal with the outposts later. But the window of opportunity provided by the Trump administration may be closed in a bit more than two years. So European nationalists need to do all they can to entrench themselves before then.
Our work is about to get harder. But it was never going to be easy. That’s why Eternal Glory belongs to those who lead us to victory.
