A friend wrote to say, “You’ve been quiet recently, Greg. Is anything wrong?” My answer: “I’ve been quiet recently because my pen has been paralyzed by disgust.”
I usually watch a horror movie on Halloween. But October’s news has been horror enough. I need a break.
Nero didn’t actually “fiddle” (or play the harp) while Rome burned. But after lighting the Persian Gulf, the global economy, hundreds of billions of dollars, and the future of his party on fire, Donald Trump has mounted stage after stage to inform us that he is an ass man.
Mostly, Trump has praised the butt of Senator John Husted of Ohio. But recently, perhaps to claw back some of his credibility with heterosexuals (and rap afficionados), Trump praised the ass of Nicki Minaj. (The only thing to shake my commitment to universal human rights was three minutes of watching Nicki Minaj’s video for “Only.”)
It is always dangerous to declare someone’s “low point,” especially someone like Trump, who will take it as a challenge to plumb new depths. But with the Nicki Minaj remark, I felt something die inside me, and I realized that it was a tiny hope that Trump and the people around him would somehow save America.
The people who smugly declare, “There’s no political solution,” are wrong. America has no problems that cannot be solved by putting state power in the hands of a principled, well-informed, courageous, and prudent leader. Such people exist. But they aren’t running the Trump administration or the Republican Party.
No, my hope didn’t die when Trump started the second Iran War. Yes, the war is a crime. Worse than a crime, it is a mistake. But even the biggest political mistake is still just a mistake, and mistakes can be overcome. But first you must admit that you have made them.
Given Trump’s character, of course, that is simply impossible. So he has resolved to brazen it out, hoping to grease his way through the midterms with a working majority so he can get back to what he really cares about: the Iran War. Moreover, Trump has such contempt for us that he’s not even trying to hide his intentions.
Before Trump started talking about asses, I thought he reached his low with his most recent betrayal of Ukraine. World oil prices are high because Trump started the Iran War. Trump fears that high oil prices—which, of course, drive up the prices of everything else—will cost Republicans control of the Congress. But admitting responsibility and stopping the war were never on the table for Trump.
Admitting responsibility was vetoed by the narcissist’s absolute imperative to maintain a positive self-image. Thus Trump decided to blame high fuel prices on Volodymir Zelensky and asked him to stop blowing up Russian refineries, i.e., to stop fighting a Russian invasion, so Trump can pretend that he is not to blame for high oil prices. At first Zelensky played along with this moral obscenity. But as soon as Russia broke the ceasefire, he dispatched more missiles and drones to light up Russian refineries.
This led both Trump and Musk to state that Zelensky needs to be removed from office—as if their opinions matter more than Ukrainian law and public opinion—because blaming the victim of the Ukraine War is standard procedure in MAGA circles.
A new low was set when Elon Musk gave the order to slow down Ukraine’s Starlink services, taking down Ukrainian air defenses and leading to the deaths of Ukrainian civilians. Initially, Musk, Trump, and Hegseth all refused to take responsibility. But the order came from Musk.
This is a criminal act. A defense contractor cannot be allowed to unilaterally turn off services. Private individuals cannot be allowed to make foreign policy decisions. Musk must be punished. Starlink should be nationalized. Oligarchs must be taught to fear the state.
After this infamy, we were treated to some comic relief. Trump announced a special waiver of sanctions on Russian diesel exports. Like some barbarian chieftain throwing loot to his followers, Trump was going to bring home three whole tankers of Russian diesel to lower prices back at home.
America doesn’t have a diesel shortage. Indeed, the US is actually exporting diesel. The price is set by global markets. It is high because of the Iran War. Three tankers of Russian diesel will do nothing for global prices. Trump knows all this. But he has utter contempt for the people who don’t know better.
All this communicates clearly that Israeli control of Trump is so absolute that he is willing to engage in any treachery or buffoonery rather than simply stop the war. He’s willing to risk the destruction of America to keep this war going.
From this point on, I don’t think there is any common ground between the people who hoped Trump would save America and the people who were willing to destroy his presidency to serve Israel. And Trump is one of those people.
Stopping the war will always be vetoed by the Jews who engineered it, regardless of the costs to the world, to America, and to Trump himself.
But it turns out that Trump and his family may be profiting handsomely from the Iran War. It has long been known that Trump’s envoys in Russia and the Middle East, Jewish business crony Steve Witkoff and Jewish son-in-law Jared Kushner, have been bribed by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which “invested” billions in their respective businesses. They had been bribed to support a war with Iran while going through the charade of negotiating peace.
Now Matthew Cole’s new book Princes and Thieves reveals the same malfeasance in the first Trump administration, during which Kushner received hundreds of millions in bribes while working with Israel, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
This raises the unsettling possibility that Trump is so evil and corrupt that he was simply bribed to start the Iran War. If this is true, they should all face a Nuremberg-style tribunal with the gallows at the end.
This might throw some light on the Trump administration’s attacks on the International Criminal Court. Trump isn’t just protecting Israeli war criminals. He may be protecting himself and his family as well.
No wonder Trump wants to talk about asses.
Now Vice President J. D. Vance is on video parrying a question about affordability by saying, “I want to point out that I’ve only gotten one question about Jon Husted’s ass.” Honestly, I took this as a parody of Trump, a sort of cry for help. This is what we call “gallows humor.” It says that Vance knows, “It’s over.” Vance once hoped to become President. But Trump torched that dream as well. I feel for the guy. But Israel comes first: before world peace, American interests, Elon Musk going to Mars, and of course Vance’s personal ambitions.
Working under Trump must be like living with a tranny: a histrionic narcissist who enjoys making you walk on eggshells and demands that you parrot his lies and cater to his every delusion. Then it hit me: this is life under any mad tyrant. This is life under Communism. They’ll all lie about it under oath, but everyone around Trump will breathe a sigh of relief when he is dead.
But thanks to our founders, Trump is not president for life. His term ends in 2029, but his effective presidency could end two years sooner, with Tuesday’s midterm elections. The polls look bad. Early voting trends look bad. Republicans throwing huge amounts of money into races that should have been safe wins looks bad.
Beyond that, anecdotal evidence is pointing to a blue tsunami, and not merely because ungrateful low-information voters are throwing a fit about gas prices, as some Republicans would like to believe.
Instead, it is the better Trump voters I know who are disaffected. These are not White Nationalists. They are not extremely online. They are simply normies who want what Trump promised: borders, an end to DEI, and an America-first foreign policy. These are also the things that White Nationalists wanted from Trump.
These voters feel deeply betrayed by Trump. They are staying home because they were Trump voters first and foremost, and Trump is not running. Or they are demoralized and don’t care what happens to the Republicans now. Or they actively wish to punish the Republicans for Trump’s betrayal. Some of this last group may well cross party lines out of spite.
I don’t know what percentage of the electorate fits this description, but in a close race, a swing of only one or two percent can make all the difference.
This is an extremely dangerous situation. Our voting bloc is not yet big enough to enact our policies, but it may be big enough to put the Left back into power. This would, of course, deliver Trump and Musk their comeuppance. But it would also endanger the good things that both men have done. It would also endanger our own movement’s freedom to speak and organize.
But I have been praying for the emergence of a racially conscious white swing vote for decades now. Now that such a bloc is coalescing, do I really want to say, “No, not yet”? Do I really want to sound like a Republican apologist?
At this point, it is not in my power to alter the blue wave, which has been swelling for months now. But it is in my power to torch my credibility. And I will not torch it to save evil men.
There’s always a moment of danger when you take off the training wheels and are forced to rely on your own powers, but it is necessary for growth. That moment may be upon us very soon.
It would be nice to keep Trump’s good policies on race and immigration and get rid of Trump. The best outcome of a blue tsunami would be to force Trump out of office, giving President Vance two years to correct course and rebuild Trump’s coalition.
It isn’t likely, but if it happens, I want white identitarians to have proven themselves to be a ruthless and effective swing voting bloc, so that future Republican administrations aren’t tempted to betray us like Trump.
Republicans are like the grandmother in Flannery O’Connor’s “A Good Man Is Hard to Find.” They’ll only be good if White Nationalists are willing to destroy their careers every minute of their lives.
